Here’s an example of why I love doing what I do. I just received this beautifully crystal opal ring in that I designed for a client in 2001, who now lives in California. It looks like something I would do today, clean and simple… contemporary classic and still valid 14 years later.
The challenge was that her knuckle had gotten bigger and you really can’t size the ring with an opal imbedded in it. To solve the problem I opened the shank up and made it oval so it goes on sideways, over her knuckle, and then rotates up. Problem solved and the opal is intact since no pressure was put on it.
Do you have a ring that doesn’t fit anymore? Bring it by, I love a challenge.
